Greg Koubek Basketball Camp

Sam Zullo, the Simsbury High School Junior Varsity Coach will be working at this camp. This is an overnight camp at Brant Lake in New York. Sam has arranged for a discounted rate for Simsbury players as well as bus transportation to and from the camp.  Several Simsbury High School Basketball Players will be camp counselors.  See the link below for details, please do not register on the camp's website.

From Sam:
The camp runs from August 14th - August 18th at a boys camp in Brant Lake, New York. Transportation will be provided by the camp so you dont have the make the round trip. The cost is $400 per camper. There are scholarship opportunities available if necessary (please contact me with question on that). This is the best camp that I went to, from a basketball development perspective, when I was in middle school and high school. It is also a great bonding opportunity for the kids as they stay in a cabin together with each other for the week.

Introduction

The Simsbury Travel Basketball Club provides an organized youth basketball program for Simsbury residents in grades 5 through 8. Teams compete against teams from towns in the Hartford, CT area with most games scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays. Teams are formed in the fall based on tryouts. Practice usually begins in November. Games usually begin in December and continue into late February or early March.

Our Philosophy

    • To teach players the basic skills of basketball
    • To build confidence in each player and to bring out there individual talent for the game
    • To teach sportsmanship and fair play through a team sport
    • To provide an opportunity for each player to participate and have fun
    • To enforce team concepts and to enhance knowledge of the sport
    • To teach the player the responsibility of each team member to try their best and to encourage their teammates to do the same
    • To prepare the player for a higher level of competition and commitment should they continue to play the sport at the high school level

Tryouts:
